A couple stand together, holding each other with on hand while raising the other hand to the sky. Two children nearby are dancing joyously. In the distance there is a house nestled in the trees. The land is green suggesting fertility and abundance. A river flows through the scene. In the sky there is a rainbow of ten Cups.
This shows people who have everything – love, children, comfort, abundance. This is a happy family who is at peace.
It is well to remember, though, that this blissful state may not be permanent. Without wanting to cast gloom on this wonderful scene… well, shit happens. With the Ten of Swords people often say that it’s not going to last forever, that the only way to go now is up. With the Ten of Cups we are faced with the opposite sentiment – it could end.
This doesn’t mean we should be unhappy; but it does suggest that we count our blessings and keep in mind how fortunate we are for those blessings.
