Three of Pentacles

A man stands on a bench, holding tools of his trade. Near him are two others – one a monk, the other holding what appears to be a plan for the work.

This image suggests a skilled worker, possibly a master of his trade; also teamwork, planning and executing a project by cooperating.

The job – building a cathedral – is beyond the abilities of any one person. Only by working together is it possible to accomplish such a monumental task. The stonemason needs people to build the structure; and the builders need the mason to adorn the cathedral. Working together they can accomplish great things.

A similar energy of cooperation can be found in the Three of Cups; but there, it is more a matter of celebration and enjoyment. Here, it’s about work.
