Ten of Pentacles

A group of people is shown – two younger adults, one elder adult, and a child. The Pentacles are abundant; the people are surrounded by abundance. The three generations suggests that the wealth has existed for a long time.

The Pentacles are arranged in a pattern that resembles the ten Sefirot of the Tree of Life in Kabbalah.

An oddity of this group of people is that no one seems to even see the elderly man, except for the two dogs. Rachel Pollack comments that this is similar to the story of Odysseus who, returning home after his adventures, is not recognized by anyone except his dog. While this coincidence is intriguing, it is not likely that it was deliberate; still, it gives pause for thought.

One interpretation of this scene is that, while there is abundance and wealth, the connections between the people are not solid. A sense of love or even affection may be missing.
