Nine of Wands

My head is bloodied, but unbowed

A man stands guard on a high wall, his Wand in hand, vigilant against attack. Behind him are many Wands, as though intent on fighting him. The man has a bandage on his head; he’s been injured. He might have suffered a psychological injury. He’s clearly already been through a battle. Nevertheless, he stands ready and alert.

Some suggest that since the Wands are behind the man, the battles have already been fought; they’re in the past. However, the man’s expression suggests that he still expects a fight. Is this a reasonable notion, or is he perhaps suffering from a bit of PTSD? Maybe both.

In a reading, there may be a battle looming; it may be a continuation of a battle that has already been fought. Courage and persistence may be necessary to finally succeed.
